Aly Panjwani is a Take Back Tech Fellow with Just Futures Law and Mijente, working against the technology that sustains ICE’s detention and deportation of immigrant communities. He is also a senior research analyst at the Action Center on Race & the Economy, conducting research for campaigns on tech corporations that enable the surveillance state and exploit workers of color. Additionally, he organizes educational programming for Muslim youth across the country. Previously, he led advocacy to expose and abolish the NYPD’s surveillance infrastructure, coordinating an ongoing campaign to ban facial recognition in New York City. Aly has also worked as a paralegal with the ACLU’s National Security Project. He graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in Culture & Politics, writing an honors thesis on the role of theatre as a form of grassroots resistance in subverting nationalist state narratives in Palestine and India.
