Art Laffin is a member of the Dorothy Day Catholic Worker in Washington, D.C. He has long been active in the faith-based nonviolent movement for peace, social justice, disarmament, and human rights. He has been imprisoned for his involvement in two Plowshares disarmament actions, as well as other nonviolent actions. He is author of a new edition of The Risk of the Cross: Living Gospel Nonviolence in the Nuclear Age, coeditor ofSwords into Plowshares, and coeditor of Arise and Witness: Poems by Anne Montgomery, RSCJ, About Faith, Prison, War Zones and Nonviolent Resistance. He has also published articles in the National Catholic Reporter, Maryknoll Magazine, Sojourners, the Catholic Worker, the Hartford Courant, Tikkun, Pax Christi USA, and Red-Letter Christians.
