Ben Grunwald

Ben Grunwald is a law professor and criminologist who teaches criminal law and procedure at Duke University School of Law. He has conducted empirical research on decarceration, law enforcement labor markets, racial disparities in policing and criminal records, police discretion in “high-crime areas,” and criminal discovery. His work has appeared in the Yale Law Journal, California Law Review, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Journal of Legal Studies, Journal of the Royal Statistical Society and other law and peer-reviewed outlets. Previously, he was a Bigelow Fellow at the University of Chicago Law School and a clerk for Judge Ambro on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
