Candice Delmas

Candice Delmas is an associate professor of philosophy and political science at Northeastern University in Boston, MA, and a residential fellow at the Collegium de Lyon (a French Institute for Advanced Study) in 2022-2023. Her research lies at the intersection of social philosophy, political theory, applied ethics, and philosophy of law. She is the author of A Duty to Resist: When Disobedience Should Be Uncivil (Oxford University Press, 2018). Her current work addresses resistance to carceral oppression and self-destructive resistance (like hunger strikes).
