Cecilia Bruni is a staff attorney at the Second Look Project, where she provides direct representation to individuals who are serving extreme sentences and seeking sentence reductions under D.C.’s second look legislation, the Incarceration Reduction Amendment Act. A firm believer in and advocate for decarceration, she is particularly interested in who the state selects to punish and confine, how it does so, and how this punishment impacts women, BIPOC, queer, and trans people. She holds a BA in History from Allegheny College and a J.D. from Cornell Law School.
