Charlotte Rosen

Charlotte Rosen is a historian, writer, and editor based in Chicago. She specializes in the modern United States, especially the history of prisons, prisoner litigation, and prisoner resistance in the late-twentieth century. She earned her PhD in History from Northwestern University in 2023. Her scholarship has appeared in The Journal of Policy History and The Journal of Urban History. She has published cultural criticism in n+1, The Nation, The Cleveland Review of Books, Public Books, and Belt Magazine. She is currently an Assistant Editor at Public Books.
