Erin Collins is a professor at the University of Richmond School of Law.  Her research critically examines criminal system reforms that are based on appeals to data, evidence, and objectivity, and considers how such reforms can entrench punitive logics and expand the carceral state. Previously, she was an appellate public defender in New York City and the executive director of the Clemency Resource Center at New York University.
