Contributor

Kiyomi Bolick joined the Colorado State Public Defenders right after graduation from Washington and Lee School of Law in 2010. She is now a Lead Deputy currently practicing in rural northwest Colorado but over the last decade has represented clients all across the state. In 2014 and 2017, Kiyomi spent time working with public defenders in Palestine as a fellow for the International Legal Foundation. After years of seeing talented and dedicated colleagues burn out of public defense she began engaging in efforts to organize a statewide union. She now proudly serves as Co-Chair for the Defenders Union of Colorado and fights for systemic change to benefit the indigent accused and increased protections for all public sector employees.
