E. Zimmerman‘s research focuses on the American carceral system and, particularly, the changing role of guard power during the era of mass incarceration. In 2023 she graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University, with degrees in Sociology and Writing Seminars. She is currently living in Germany on a Fulbright scholarship.
