Pathways Beyond Criminalized Crisis

This week, Inquest presents three short films from Represent Justice’s 2026 Ambassador Films collection that criticize the damaging effects of incarceration on communities that have already been failed by the state. Julius Irving’s The Silent (R)evolution: Freedom from the Inside Out, Leigh Scott’s Uncarcerated, and Todd Jones’s Loud Silence follow three formerly incarcerated men who now work with organizations that center healing in response to poverty, homelessness, gun violence, and other forms of trauma. As Irving puts it, “It’s time for a drastic, far-reaching change. . . . While we’re waiting for the system to catch up and catch on, us—me, you, the people—hold a tremendous duty to one another.”
