Alexander Bolling

Alexander Bolling is a writer and an advocate for education in the carceral system. Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, he lived through the trials of poverty and the trauma of violence. Alexander has found solace in the transformative capacity of learning since being sentenced to an extended term in prison in the late 2000s. In 2022, Alexander graduated summa cum laude from Emerson College with a BA in Media, Literature and Culture. In the same year, Alexander was published in College Behind the Wall: Why and How We Teach College in Prison. He has also published in Inquest under the pen name Alexander X.
